The first look of the film is out and Mammootty is in his khaki avatar in the poster. However, by the looks of it, we have this feeling that this will be a very different cop for the Malayalam megastar! The way he casually leans against the bonnet of the jeep shows this will be a cooler version of the cops he usually depicts on screen. The colour palette and the background imagery are also very eye-catching! All in all, it looks like a promising mass entertainer!
Kasaba is directed by Nithin Renji Panicker, who is the son of popular scenarist turned actor Ranji Panicker. Ranji Panicker is known for writing massy entertainers like Commissioner, The King, Eklavyan, Lelam, Pathram, and having directed Bharathchandran IPS and Roudram. Though he is currently happy doing clean roles in films like Om Shanti Oshana, Jacobite Swargarajyam, Premam and others, his son is all set to take his kind of cinema to another level.
Varalaxmi Sarathkumar plays Mammootty’s heroine in the film. She is the daughter of Tamil actor Sarath Kumar, who played Mammootty’s friend and commander in Kerala Varma Pazhassi Raja.
